MAN STABS FATHER IN DOMESTIC ARGUMENT

On 06/20/2015 at appx 0200 hours, The Edwards County Sheriff's Office was notified via dispatch that a stabbing had occurred in the 600 blk of N. Cedar Street in Rocksprings Texas. Deputies proceeded to the location Deputies and was advised that Marc Accove Jr (21) had stabbed Marc Accove Sr.(46) during an act of family violence. It was determined that Accove Sr. had told Accove Jr. to turn his Bluetooth and play music. Accove Jr. refused and went to his room and moments later Accove Sr. followed him into the room.

 

According to Accove Jr., Accove Sr. demanded that Accove Jr. respect him and that he was the King of his house. Accove Jr was able to retrieve a box cutter from his bed and he cut Accove Sr. 3 times in his back and neck and then broke free and ran away from the location.

 

After interviewing Accove Jr., it was determined that an argument turned into a fight that then turned into a stabbing. Accove Jr. stated that his father had been drinking.

 

Accord Sr. stated that his son was smoking marijuana at their home and did not want that sort of thing happing inside his home. Accord Sr.'s statement was the only statement from any of the witnesses complaining that Accord Jr. was using drugs inside his home

Marc Accove Jr was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault- Deadly Weapon-Family Violence a first degree felony and was booked into the Edwards County Detention Facility. He is being held on a 75000.00 bond.

If convicted, Marc Accove Jr. could face life or 5-99 years with a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.
