EDWARDS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NETS 7 ARREST OVER THE THANKSGIVING WEEKEND Edwards County Deputies have been busy over the holiday weekend with 7 unrelated arrest. It started on November 26, 2019 at Valero when Fernando Franco (27) of Rocksprings Texas, tried to pass another Forged Check with the clerk. Employees immediately called one of The Edwards County Deputies and Franco was apprehended after a brief struggle. Franco was intoxicated with narcotics and was arrested for Resisting Arrest, and public intoxication. Bond was set By Justice of the Peace Tommy Walker in the amount of $8000. Franco remains in The Edwards County Detention Facility in lieu of posting bond. On November 27, 2019 John Gregory Alexander (34) was arrested on Riverview Road for warrants from Polk County Texas for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 Less than 1 gram. Alexander is remanded without bond on both counts and remains in The Edwards County Detention awaiting extradition to Polk County. On November 28, 2019. Juan Pablo Ortiz (39) from Rocksprings Texas was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon- Family Violence and a probation violation from Tom Green County for DWI. Bond was set by Justice of the Peace Tommy Walker in the amount of $75,000.00. The DWI probation violation has no bond. Ortiz remains in The Edwards County Detention Facility On November 29, 2019, Ignacio "Iggy" Torres was arrested for Criminal Trespass, a Class A Misdemeanor. Bond was set by Justice of the Peace Tommy Walker in the amount of $6000.00. Torres remains in The Edwards County Detention Facility in lieu of posting bond. On November 29, 2019 Ricardo Jr. (29) was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4 to 200 grams. Justice of the Peace Tommy Walker set bond in the amount of $15000.00. Carrillo is free after posting bond. On November 29, 2019 Johnny Matthew Torres (37) was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less than 2 Ounces. Justice of the Peace Tommy Walker set bond in the amount of$3000.00. Torres id free after posting bond. On December 2, 2019, Axcel Rodriguez (18) was arrested for a warrant out of Travis County for Evading Detention. Rodriguez is in the Edwards Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition to Travis County.
